Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the charts. However, the analysis is somewhat inconsistent. While you successfully highlight the dinner meal as having the highest proportions, the description of the data is occasionally confusing, particularly when comparing the snacks and breakfast categories. The overview is quite weak; it merely states that percentages are 'similar' without capturing the significant trends or the most striking differences between the nutrients across the four meals. To improve, ensure that your overview highlights the most significant overall patterns, such as which nutrient is most prevalent overall or which meal has the most extreme values.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression between sentences is often disjointed. For instance, the transition 'Moving towards rest of the information' is a bit mechanical. The use of cohesive devices is limited and sometimes inaccurate, such as the phrase 'which are consumed in USA respectively' at the end of a sentence, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the flow between sentences by using more varied linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'these', 'those') is clear would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for higher bands. You rely on basic descriptors like 'highest', 'lowest', and 'similar'. There are also issues with word choice and collocation, such as 'sugar touch peak point' and 'ratio is remain intact'. These errors occasionally make the text feel unnatural. To reach a higher band, try to incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'predominant', 'fluctuate', or 'account for', and ensure that your word forms are used correctly in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'individuals who are live in USA' (should be 'who live in the USA'), 'all of them are not good for health if eat why people too much' (which is syntactically broken), and 'the ratio of sodium is remain intact'. These errors in subject-verb agreement and sentence construction are noticeable. Focusing on basic sentence accuracy and proofreading for verb forms will help improve your score in this area.
