Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the score. Furthermore, the summary is incomplete; it stops abruptly mid-sentence while describing the dinner data, failing to cover all parts of the task or provide a meaningful overview of the trends. The information provided is fragmented, and the comparison of data points is not fully developed. To improve, you must ensure you complete the summary of all categories and provide a clear overview of the main trends observed in the charts, while ensuring the response length meets the minimum requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The response lacks a logical structure. While there is an attempt at paragraphing, the abrupt ending and the lack of a concluding summary make the progression of ideas unclear. Cohesive devices are largely absent or misused, such as the mechanical and repetitive use of 'are used' and 'in'. The referencing is also weak, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the three nutrients across the different meal types. To improve, focus on using transition words like 'whereas', 'in contrast', or 'similarly' to link your ideas more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

The vocabulary is very limited and contains several errors, such as 'illaburate' (elaborate), 'deaply' (deeply), and the incorrect use of 'metals' instead of 'nutrients'. The repetition of basic verbs like 'used' and 'are' indicates a lack of range. There are also spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'satuare'. To reach a higher band, you need to use a wider range of vocabulary related to data description, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'represent', and ensure accurate spelling and word choice.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The grammar is frequently inaccurate, which often impedes communication. There are consistent errors in subject-verb agreement, such as 'the sodium are used' and 'saturated fat are used'. Sentence structures are basic and often incomplete or poorly constructed. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces and incorrect capitalization. The lack of complex sentence structures prevents the demonstration of a wider grammatical range. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common errors in articles and verb forms.
