Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses the task by identifying the main features of the charts. However, there are significant inaccuracies in the data reporting. For example, you state that sodium and saturated fat 'rosed as 43% and 37%' in dinner, but the charts show different values. Additionally, the description of the trends is sometimes confusing, such as claiming added sugar 'increased' in snacks without providing a clear comparative baseline. While you cover all categories, the lack of precision in data interpretation and the failure to clearly highlight the most significant differences between the meals prevent this from reaching a higher band. Ensure that data points are transcribed accurately from the visual information provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and confusing transitions. For instance, the transition 'Begin with the breakfast' is non-standard, and the use of 'Whereas' and 'However' is often forced or grammatically incorrect, such as 'Whereas, the added sugar was shown 19% in the lunch which was declined than the saturated fat'. The referencing is also unclear at times, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison between the different nutrients and meal types. Improving the use of cohesive devices and ensuring clear sentence-to-sentence progression is essential.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is somewhat limited and repetitive. You rely on basic verbs like 'recorded', 'accounted', and 'shown'. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'separated three different types' and 'rosed as', which is an incorrect form of the verb 'rise'. The phrase 'all of may be unhealthy' is also grammatically awkward. To improve, you should focus on using more precise terminology for describing data, such as 'constituted', 'represented', or 'accounted for', and ensure that you are using the correct word forms (e.g., 'rose' instead of 'rosed').
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. There are issues with verb tenses and forms, such as 'all of may be' and 'was rosed'. Sentence structures are often fragmented or incorrectly constructed, for example, 'Whereas, the added sugar was shown 19% in the lunch which was declined than the saturated fat'. There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the simple sentences used often contain errors in subject-verb agreement or preposition usage. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for verb forms would significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
