Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response covers the main features of the charts, identifying key trends such as the high consumption of sodium and saturated fat at dinner and sugar at snacks. However, the analysis is somewhat repetitive and lacks precision in comparing the data across all categories. While the main points are identified, the reporting of figures is occasionally confusing, such as the claim that 'all the nutrients are consumed at very less amount' during breakfast, which is a vague summary. To improve, ensure that comparisons are more direct and that the data is grouped more logically to highlight the most significant differences rather than listing figures in a disjointed manner.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the misuse of 'While' at the start of a sentence and the repetitive use of 'Moreover' and 'Furthermore'. The progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'at which sodium is consumed more than fat and sugar which is at 43%'. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making it difficult to track which nutrient is being discussed in relation to which meal. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but remains quite basic and repetitive. There are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'higly' instead of 'highly', 'tome' instead of 'time', and 'nurtients'. The range of vocabulary is limited, relying heavily on repeating the same terms throughout the text. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise synonyms and collocations related to data description, such as 'account for', 'constitute', or 'predominant', and ensure that spelling is accurate throughout the response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and some attempted complex structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Subject-verb agreement is a recurring issue, such as 'Sodium and saturated fat is consumed' (should be 'are consumed') and 'this nutrients is' (should be 'these nutrients are'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary capitalisation of words like 'It' and 'Sodium' in the middle of sentences. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors limits the score. Focusing on basic agreement and consistent sentence structure will help improve your accuracy.
