Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response covers the main features of the charts, identifying key trends such as the high consumption of nutrients at dinner. However, the analysis is inconsistent and contains factual inaccuracies. For instance, you state that sodium consumption is 'nearly half' at dinner, which is not supported by the data provided. Additionally, the statement that the amount of nutrients 'remained same in all the time' contradicts the visual evidence of the charts. While you attempt to report data, the lack of precision and the inclusion of incorrect information prevent a clear overview. To improve, ensure that your data points are accurate and that your comparisons are logically derived from the charts provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'In detail' and 'According to breakfast data' are used, but the logical flow between sentences is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear referencing. For example, the final paragraph is confusing, as it contradicts earlier points and lacks a clear connection to the preceding information. Improving the use of transition signals and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision required for a higher band. You use basic terms like 'taken', 'space', and 'part', which are not always appropriate for describing statistical data. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'Snakes' (likely meant 'Snacks') and 'better proportion', which sound unnatural. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'constitute', 'account for', and 'fluctuate', while ensuring they are used in the correct context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Saturated fat were', 'added sugar were accounts'), incorrect preposition usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'with compare to another time'). While the meaning is generally understandable, these recurring errors demonstrate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage, will help improve your score in this criterion.
