Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features of the charts. You have successfully selected and reported the key data points for each meal type and nutrient. However, the overview is slightly weak; while you mention that dinner has high percentages, it would be more effective to highlight the most significant trend, such as the dominance of added sugar in snacks versus sodium in dinner. The introductory sentence is a bit informal and contains some irrelevant commentary about health risks, which is not required for an Academic Task 1 report. To improve, focus strictly on describing the data presented in the charts.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is logically organized with a clear progression from an overview to specific meal categories. You use paragraphing to separate the different meal types, which helps the reader follow the information. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'In terms of...', 'Regarding to...'). There are also some minor issues with referencing and flow, such as the slightly awkward transition between the overview and the body paragraphs. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would elevate the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'nutrients', and 'illustrate' correctly. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'much more higher' (a double comparative error) and 'consumed it soo much'. The phrasing 'in United States' is also missing an article. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and ensuring that your collocations are natural. Avoid informal phrasing and ensure that your comparative structures are grammatically sound.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'average proportion in standard meals... in United States', 'if we consumed it soo much than it may be most dangerous', and 'Regarding to Breakfast'. The use of 'respectively' is also misused in the context of the breakfast data. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and avoiding redundant comparative forms.
