Student answer (Band 5.5)
We have a three pie charts and all of three is showing a in the USA average percentages of sodium, saturated fats and sugar consumed. In the sodium pie chart the consumption of it in breakfast and snack are same. While compartively to the lunch are more than the previous one. We can see clearly a major percentage in the dinner time which 43%.
The Saturated fats consumption in the breakfast are less as compare to snack and lunch. It seems like US people are taking much saturated fats in the dinner time. At the beginning of the day they starts the day with less saturated fats. Morever, the sugar consumption in their meals are also more in the snack time. As we all know snacks are processed foods that's why they contains much sugar comaparetively to the other meals. All of three nutrients are less in the breakfast time.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response identifies the main features of the charts, such as the high consumption of sodium and saturated fats at dinner and the prevalence of sugar in snacks. However, the analysis is somewhat superficial. The report lacks a clear overview or summary statement that synthesizes the data trends. Furthermore, some comparisons are imprecise, such as stating 'the consumption of it in breakfast and snack are same' without referencing the specific figures. To improve, ensure you provide a clear introductory overview of the main trends and use specific data points to support your comparisons, rather than relying on general observations.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The response is organized into two paragraphs, but the logical flow is hindered by repetitive sentence structures and limited cohesive devices. While there is an attempt to link ideas, the transitions are often mechanical or missing. For example, the transition 'Morever' is misspelled and used to start a new point about sugar without a clear connection to the previous paragraph. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as 'the previous one', which makes it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison. Using a wider range of linking words and improving paragraph structure would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety expected at higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice, such as 'all of three is showing' and 'US people are taking much saturated fats'. The repetition of basic terms like 'consumption' and 'meals' limits the lexical range. To achieve a higher score, you should incorporate more precise academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'intake', 'predominant', or 'fluctuate', and ensure correct collocations.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('all of three is showing', 'snacks... contains'), incorrect article usage ('a three pie charts'), and awkward sentence construction ('While compartively to the lunch are more than the previous one'). There is a lack of complex sentence structures, and the punctuation is inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence structure. Incorporating a mix of simple and complex sentences with greater accuracy will significantly improve this score.
