Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response covers the main features of the charts, but the presentation is flawed. While you identify the nutrients and meal types, the reporting of data is repetitive and lacks analytical comparison. For instance, simply listing percentages for each category without synthesizing the information makes the report feel like a raw data dump rather than a summary. Furthermore, there is a significant error in the data reporting (e.g., '242%' for snacks), which misrepresents the provided information. To improve, focus on grouping data points to highlight trends and differences between the nutrients rather than listing every single value individually.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the internal structure of the paragraphs is weak. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often misused, such as 'To commence with it is noticeable that. Firstly,' followed by fragmented sentences. The progression of ideas is disjointed, making it difficult for the reader to follow the comparison of the three nutrients. The referencing is also unclear at times, and the lack of smooth transitions between the data points hinders the overall flow of the response.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. You rely heavily on basic phrasing such as 'it contains' and 'it is'. There is little attempt to use a range of vocabulary to describe trends or comparisons (e.g., 'fluctuated', 'peaked', 'accounted for', or 'proportion'). Additionally, there are errors in word choice and formatting, such as the inclusion of '242%' which is clearly a typo or misreading of the data. To reach a higher band, you should incorporate more precise terminology related to data description and avoid repeating the same sentence structures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede readability. Many sentences are fragmented, such as 'in lunch it is also same 14%.' and 'in snacks it contains 29%. and in dinner it is 43%.' There is a lack of control over basic sentence structure, punctuation, and capitalization. You should focus on forming complete, grammatically correct sentences by ensuring every sentence has a clear subject and verb. The overuse of full stops to separate phrases that should be connected with conjunctions or commas is a recurring issue that significantly lowers the score.
