Student answer (Band 4.0)
There are three pie charts that show about the nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much. In this charts show the average percentage of sodium, saturated fats and added some sugars in typical meals consumed in the USA.
So in Sodium , Breakfast was 14 per cent , Lunch was 29 per cent, Snacks was 14 per cent and the last one is Dinner was 43 per cent . So according there ratio of this nutrients diet was healthy. Keep taking this diet .
The second one is Saturated fat , in which 21 per cent is snacks, 16 per cent is Breakfast , 26 per cent is Lunch and the last one is 37 per cent is Dinner . So accordingly there ratio the meal was healthy but if we balanced these nutrients. Because there was 37 per cent of Dinner with healthy nutrients of Saturated fats.
And the last one is Added sugar , in which 42 per cent is snacks , 16 per cent is breakfast , 19 per cent is Lunch and 23 per cent is Dinner . so this meal was Unhealthy. So in all the one Added sugar was Unhealthy nutrients .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to provide a clear overview of the main trends, which is a requirement for Task 1. Instead of summarizing the data, the student lists figures in a repetitive manner. Furthermore, the student includes personal opinions such as 'diet was healthy' and 'Keep taking this diet,' which are inappropriate for an academic report. The task requires an objective summary of the data provided in the charts, not a subjective evaluation of the nutritional value of the meals. Consequently, the response does not fully address the requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0
The response lacks logical organization. While there is an attempt to group information by nutrient, the paragraphs are poorly structured and the flow between sentences is disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and often inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'So' to start sentences. There is no clear progression of ideas, and the paragraphing is inconsistent, making the text difficult to follow. The lack of transition words or logical connectors hinders the overall readability of the report.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.0
The vocabulary is very limited and repetitive. The student relies heavily on basic phrasing such as 'the last one is' and 'there ratio'. There is little evidence of the ability to use vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'accounted for', 'constituted', or 'fluctuated'. The misuse of terms like 'added some sugars' (instead of 'added sugars') and the confusion between 'ratio' and 'percentage' demonstrate a lack of precision. The range is insufficient to convey the information effectively.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are significant issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'In this charts show'), incorrect word order, and faulty sentence structure. Punctuation is also problematic, with inconsistent spacing and misuse of commas. The student uses only simple sentence structures, and even these are often marred by errors. There is no attempt at complex sentence structures, and the persistent errors in basic grammar make the text difficult to read and understand.
