Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response successfully identifies the main features of the charts and makes relevant comparisons. You have correctly highlighted the dominant categories for each nutrient, such as dinner for sodium and saturated fat, and snacks for added sugar. The overview is clear and provides a good summary of the data. However, the report could be improved by ensuring all data points are presented with consistent precision; for instance, you missed the percentage for lunch in the saturated fat section. Overall, you have addressed the requirements of the task well by selecting and reporting the key trends.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondaly', and 'Lastly' to guide the reader through the data. However, there are some issues with mechanical cohesion and referencing. For example, the sentence 'the pie charts devided in four different parts such as, breakfast, dinner, lunch and snacks' is slightly awkward and lacks a smooth connection to the rest of the paragraph. Paragraphing is used appropriately, but the flow between sentences could be more sophisticated to achieve a higher band.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'proportion', 'constitutes', 'comprises', and 'dominate'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'charta' instead of 'charts', 'saturared' instead of 'saturated', 'recarding' instead of 'regarding', and 'Secondaly' instead of 'Secondly'. These errors are noticeable but do not impede communication. To reach a higher band, you should aim for more accurate spelling and attempt to use a wider variety of collocations to describe statistical trends more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The response uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are several grammatical inaccuracies. For instance, 'The three pie charta illustrates' contains a subject-verb agreement error (plural subject with singular verb). Additionally, 'dinner hold the highest shares' should be 'dinner holds'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor errors, such as unnecessary commas in the second paragraph. You have a sufficient range of structures, but more attention to subject-verb agreement and proofreading for small errors would improve your score.
