Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement score. Because the response is only 76 words long, it is severely underdeveloped. It fails to provide a comprehensive overview or a detailed analysis of the data presented in the charts. While it identifies the three nutrients, it does not make sufficient comparisons or highlight the main features as required by the prompt. To improve, you must expand your analysis by describing the trends for each meal type in greater detail and ensuring you reach the minimum word count.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response is too short to demonstrate effective paragraphing or a logical progression of ideas. While there is a basic attempt to introduce the topic and describe the data, the lack of development makes it difficult to assess the use of cohesive devices. The sentences are somewhat disjointed, and there is no clear structure to guide the reader through the information. To improve, you should organize your essay into clear paragraphs: an introduction, an overview of the main trends, and body paragraphs that group related data points together using linking words like 'whereas' or 'in contrast'.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite basic and repetitive. Phrases like 'used in high ratio' and 'used in high level' are not natural collocations in this context. There are also inaccuracies, such as 'sugar additive' instead of 'added sugar'. The range of vocabulary is limited, which prevents a more precise description of the data. To improve, try to use more academic vocabulary related to data description, such as 'proportion', 'consumption', 'significant', and 'predominant'. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating the same words throughout your writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are several grammatical errors that affect the clarity of the writing. For example, 'All of these are may be harmful' contains a double modal error, and 'their intake are too much' shows a subject-verb agreement error. The sentence structures are simple and lack the complexity required for higher bands. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs. Additionally, try to incorporate more complex sentence structures, such as using relative clauses or subordinating conjunctions, to demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
