The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much.

Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

Student answer (Band 6.5)

The Pie charts have been used to summarize the usage of three types of nutrients that are used in the three meals. Overall, dinner contains the highest levels of sodium and saturated fat. Whereas snacks contain the largest amount of sugar. While breakfast has the lowest amount of nutrients. In contrast, lunch occupies a middle position in most cases. \

Looking first at sodium, dinner accounts for the highest proportion of approx 43%, followed by lunch at around 37%. Breakfast and Lunch have smaller shares at about 14% and 14%. While looking at saturated fat, dinner has the largest amount at 37%; lunch contributes 26%, snacks rank at 21%, and breakfast, last, contributes the least at 16%. Overall, dinner contributes at largest, and breakfast the least.

Turning to sugar, snacks have the largest amount of sugar compared to the other three meals. Dinner comes second with 23%, and lunch at 19%, while breakfast has the lowest of all with 16%. Unlike saturated fat and sodium, snacks are consumed in snacks.
