Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response falls significantly short of the 150-word minimum, containing only 88 words and breaking off mid-sentence. Consequently, it only partially addresses the task requirements and lacks a complete overview and full comparison of all data points. While the student correctly identifies some figures (e.g., sodium at 43% for dinner and 14% for breakfast and snacks), the truncated nature of the writing severely limits the development of ideas.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5

The text lacks proper paragraphing and remains incomplete. Although there are basic attempts at logical progression using transition markers like 'Firstly' and 'On the other hand', the abrupt end of the response prevents a coherent overall arrangement. Referencing is sometimes unclear, and the text reads as a collection of isolated sentences rather than a cohesive report.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, such as 'percentage', 'amount', and 'unhealthy'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward phrasing, including 'put lights on' instead of 'shed light on' or 'illustrate', and 'has the contain'. The range is minimally adequate for basic communication, but insufficient for a complete academic task response.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The writing contains severe grammatical issues. The opening sentence is a sentence fragment ('The charts below illustrating...') lacking a finite verb. Other errors include missing articles ('in USA'), incorrect verb forms ('is very unhealthy and cause'), and a breakdown in sentence structure as the text cuts off. Complex structures are either absent or heavily flawed.
