Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 4.5)
The pie chart given below illustrate the average percentage of usually eaten meals consists of three kinds of nutrients including Sodium, Saturated fat and Added Suger in USA. It may be unhygenic for health if consumed excessively.
Overall, the figure depicts that the sodium taken at the dinner time has the highest percentge among all. Following to this saturated fat percentage is also close to it but added suger at dinner is lower among all. Simlarly, the percentage among saturated fat and added suger is alike with a little differance in sodium.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, as it contains only 92 words. Consequently, the description of the charts is severely underdeveloped. While the student attempts to provide an overview and mentions some data points, such as sodium consumption at dinner being the highest at 43 percent, key comparisons across all three nutrients (sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar) are missing or inaccurate. For instance, the claim that 'added sugar at dinner is lower among all' contradicts the visual data, which shows snacks having the highest percentage for added sugar. Due to the under-length penalty and incomplete coverage of the data, the score is limited to band 4.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.5
The text is organized into two brief paragraphs, attempting an introduction with an overview and some body details. However, logical progression is hindered by poor referencing and unclear comparisons. For example, phrases like 'Following to this saturated fat percentage is also close to it' lack precise cohesive links and fail to clearly connect the data points. Paragraphing is also inadequate due to the extremely short overall length of the essay, which limits the development of a cohesive structure. Cohesive devices are either missing or used inaccurately, resulting in a disjointed flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 4.5
The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with several errors in word choice and spelling that impede clear communication. Examples include 'Suger' instead of sugar, 'unhygenic' instead of unhealthy, and 'percentge'. The student attempts some topic-related vocabulary such as 'nutrients', 'consumption', and 'percentage', but the overall lexical range is very limited. Less common vocabulary is either absent or misused, leading to awkward phrasing like 'usually eaten meals consists of three kinds of nutrients'.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5
The response features a very limited range of grammatical structures. Simple sentences dominate, and attempts at more complex constructions contain notable errors, such as 'The pie chart given below illustrate', which suffers from a subject-verb agreement error. Other mistakes include missing articles and prepositions, as well as incorrect word forms ('added suger at dinner is lower among all'). Punctuation is basic. While some simple sentences are error-free, the high frequency of grammatical and mechanical errors restricts the overall accuracy.
