The charts below show the average percentages in typical meals of three types of nutrients, all of which may be unhealthy if eaten too much.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
This diagram illustrates three pie charts which shows the average percentage of sodium, saturated fats and added sugars in four typical meals consumed in the USA. Overall, sodium and saturated fats are consumed the most in dinner while added sugar is consumed the most in snacks. We are going to discuss this below.
Sodium is consumed the most in dinner acquiring 43% and lunch being 29% while it is consumed in equal proportion in snacks and dinner. Secondly, saturated fat has been consumed in dinner the most that is 37%, lunch being 26% while snacks and breakfast being 21% and 16%.
Lastly, added sugars is consumed the most in snacks that is 42% while in meals eaten in the dinner, there is 23% added. Moreover, low amount of sugar is consumed in lunch and breakfast that is 19 and 16% each. Overall, this pie chart compared the proportion of these nutrients that is mostly added in the meals eaten daily.
