Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The student successfully covers all parts of the task by identifying the main features and making relevant comparisons across the four meal times and three nutrients. The overview correctly highlights that unhealthy nutrients are consumed mostly in the second half of the day. Key details are accurately reported, such as snacks accounting for 42% of added sugar, dinner having the highest sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%), and breakfast being the healthiest overall. The data points cited match the visual reference closely, and the student successfully groups the information logically.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The response is organized into logical paragraphs, beginning with an introduction, followed by an overview, and then supporting body paragraphs detailing individual nutrients and meals. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'In contrary', and 'Lunch has' are used to connect ideas, though some transitions are slightly awkward or unnatural, such as 'In contrary' instead of 'In contrast'. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate different meal categories and nutrients, ensuring a clear overall progression throughout the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, with appropriate references to nutrients such as 'sodium', 'saturated fat', and 'added sugar'. There are some successful attempts at less common vocabulary or phrasing, such as 'proportion' and 'unhealthy nutrients'. However, there are notable word choice and collocation errors, such as 'each dishes' (instead of 'each dish'), 'ingest' (used instead of the passive form 'ingested'), 'dinner present' (verb agreement error), and 'pretty healthier' (informal phrasing).

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Nearly half of the added sugar is ingest by eating snacks with 42%.' and 'breakfast looks to be a healthier meal than the others by having only 16 percents...'. There are several grammatical errors, including passive voice errors ('is ingest'), subject-verb agreement issues ('dinner present'), and missing plural markers ('percents'). However, punctuation is generally acceptable, and the errors do not impede overall communication.
