Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the task by summarizing the provided charts regarding sodium, saturated fat, and added sugars across four meal types. An overview is attempted in the second paragraph, touching on key figures like sodium at dinner and sugar in snacks. However, the data presentation lacks clarity and contains several inaccuracies or confusing statements (e.g., stating 'saturation fat which is the 37% most taken by dinner food...'). Furthermore, comparisons are poorly integrated and the description feels disjointed. To achieve a higher band, the student needs to select and report the most salient features more accurately and structure the overview to capture the broader trends effectively.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response is organized into four paragraphs, attempting an introduction, overview, and body paragraphs. However, the logical progression is weak. The overview is overly specific for a summary paragraph ('the highest figure is sodium...'). Cohesive devices are misused or awkward, such as 'To began with' (which also contains a spelling error), and referencing is frequently unclear, leading to confusion between data points. Paragraphing is present, but internal cohesion fails to guide the reader smoothly through the comparisons. Overall, the organizational structure is mechanical and sometimes disjointed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The student uses basic and repetitive vocabulary throughout the response, such as repeating 'figure', 'taken', and 'meal food'. There are noticeable inaccuracies in word formation and collocation, such as 'saturation fats' instead of 'saturated fats' and 'bigger value' instead of 'highest proportion' or 'largest amount'. While the vocabulary is minimally adequate to convey the general topic of food nutrients, the limited range and lexical errors restrict the score to this band, as they sometimes cause hesitation or confusion for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The text displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple or awkwardly concatenated clauses (e.g., 'The given image show the three pie chart that illustrates...'). There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('image show', 'chart that illustrates'), incorrect verb forms ('is taken', 'is the lowest figure which is taken'), and punctuation errors. Complex structures are attempted but are generally faulty and lack control. These errors persist throughout the text, though they rarely obscure the overall topic completely.
