Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
The pie charts illutstrates the information about the percentage of nutrients in thre type of meals.
Overall, the sodium and saturated fat has a highest percentage in the dinner almost about 43% of sodium and 37% of saturated fat. Furthermore, in the breakfast the sodium and saturated fat face least percentage. As we clearly seen that sugar has very high percentage in the snacks.
Firstly, when we see the pie chart it is clearly seen that dinner contain the highest percentage of sodium and saturated fat about 43% and 37%. Similarly, snacks contain 42% of sugar that is too high and harmful for health. Secondly, it is clearly seen that sodium, saturated fat, and sugar are almost same in the breakfast that is 14%, 16% and 16%. When we can calculate the nutrients in the lunch we can see that launch contain 29% of sodium, 26% of saturated fat and almost 19% sugar. Lastly, when we compares the all nutrients it is clear that the dinner contain the highest percentage of sodium and saturated fat and snacks contain the highest percentage of sugar.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response successfully covers all parts of the prompt by presenting an overview and reporting the key features of sodium, saturated fat, and added sugars across the four meal types. You select the most prominent data points, such as the highest sodium and saturated fat values occurring at dinner (43% and 37%) and the peak for added sugars during snacks (42%). However, some ideas are slightly under-developed or repetitive, as you restate similar points in different paragraphs without fully extending the comparisons or exploring the broader implications of the data. You provide a clear overview in the second paragraph that captures the main trends, which helps push the response into the half-band score, demonstrating parts of higher-level task achievement while still showing some limitations in breadth and depth of support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a coherent overall arrangement and attempts to organize information into logical paragraphs with an introductory overview followed by body details. However, cohesion is often mechanical and repetitive, relying heavily on transitional phrases like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'Lastly', alongside repetitive sentence openings such as 'it is clearly seen that'. Referencing is occasionally imprecise, and the progression between ideas lacks smooth transitions, which stalls the flow of reading. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs feels disjointed, resulting in a performance that meets the core requirements of organisation while displaying typical patterns of lower-band cohesion due to repetitive and formulaic linking devices.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate basic numerical data and nutrient names such as 'sodium', 'saturated fat', and 'added sugars'. You attempt some less common vocabulary, but there are noticeable word-choice errors, incorrect word forms, and spelling mistakes, such as 'illutstrates' instead of illustrates, 'thre' instead of three, and 'launch' instead of lunch. Phrasing can also be awkward or unnatural, such as 'face least percentage' or 'when we can calculate the nutrients'. These errors do not completely impede communication, but they restrict your lexical score because precision and control are lacking, and spelling slips detract from the overall quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence structures, but your grammatical range is limited and accuracy is inconsistent. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement and articles, such as 'the sodium and saturated fat has a highest percentage', where the plural subjects and singular verb do not agree, and the superlative adjective requires 'the' omitted or 'has the highest percentage'. Other issues include preposition use and awkward clause structures, such as 'When we compares the all nutrients'. While these errors rarely completely obscure your meaning, they occur regularly throughout the text, preventing the response from achieving a higher grade where error-free sentences would predominate.
