Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

The response only partially addresses the task requirements. First, the length requirement of 150 words is not met, as the text stops abruptly at 125 words, leaving out any discussion of lunch. Furthermore, the writing trails off unfinished in the middle of a sentence ("When it came to lunch,"). While an overview is attempted, stating that dinner had the most sodium and saturated fat while snacks had the most added sugar, the body paragraphs fail to fully report and compare all the main features due to the incomplete nature of the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organization with an introductory sentence and paragraph breaks, but the overall progression of the response is incomplete because the text breaks off abruptly. Cohesive devices such as "Overall", "At first glance", and "However" are used to link ideas, but referencing is sometimes mechanical. The lack of a concluding body paragraph for lunch disrupts the logical flow and development of the answer as a whole, preventing the response from achieving a coherent structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The lexical range is limited but minimally adequate for basic communication. The student attempts some less common vocabulary such as "proportation", "utilitesed", and "spdium" (which contain spelling errors). Word choice and phrasing are occasionally awkward, for example, writing "make comparison between 3 types of ingredients" instead of nutrients, and "its almost half of the quantity was utilitesed of saturated fat". These noticeable errors and spelling slips cause some difficulty for the reader, keeping the vocabulary score at this level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response demonstrates a very limited range of sentence structures, relying mostly on simple and basic complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors, such as article omission ("in comparison of other nutrients"), incorrect prepositions ("in dinner"), and awkward phrasing in passive structures. Punctuation errors are also present, including missing spaces after commas. These frequent errors occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning of the attempted sentences usually remains understandable.
