Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
The response addresses the task only partially and cuts off mid-sentence, leaving the description of added sugars incomplete. While the writer attempts to report data for sodium, saturated fats, and added sugars across the four meal times, some of the figures and comparisons are either under-developed or inaccurately communicated. For instance, stating that sodium in breakfast and snacks is 'costant with a digit 14 percent' overlooks the fact that breakfast is 14 percent while snacks are 43 percent for sodium, confusing the categories. Furthermore, the overview is somewhat mechanical and limited in scope, lacking a fully developed summary of the overall trends presented in the charts.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation with separate paragraphs dedicated to different nutrients, such as sodium and saturated fats. However, the text lacks a clear overall progression and suffers from inadequate and repetitive cohesive devices, such as repeatedly relying on 'as shown by the percentage' and 'time meals'. Paragraphing is disrupted by the abrupt ending of the text, and referencing between ideas is sometimes unclear, making the flow somewhat mechanical rather than naturally guided from one point to the next.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate to convey basic data points, such as 'intake', 'nutrients', and 'consumption'. There are noticeable lexical errors and awkward collocations that reflect a restricted range, such as 'four time meals', 'Dinner meals are containing', and 'snacks time'. Spelling and word-choice errors, including 'costant' instead of 'constant', cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the vocabulary from achieving the flexibility and precision required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple sentences with frequent structural and grammatical errors. There are issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'are showing' instead of 'show' and 'are containing' instead of 'contain', alongside missing articles and awkward prepositions as seen in 'in lunch time'. Frequent errors in grammar and punctuation persist throughout the text, leading to awkward phrasings like 'As concerned about the use of saturated fats its high in dinner time similar with case of sodium', which can cause difficulty for the reader.
