Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify several important peaks accurately: sodium is highest at dinner (43%), saturated fat also peaks at dinner (37%), and added sugar is highest in snacks (42%). However, the response gives only a limited account of the chart and does not compare the meal categories systematically; for example, lunch values and the contrast between dinner and snacks are largely omitted. The claim that sodium is highest “in all three main meals” is unclear and not supported as a general comparison, since breakfast has the lowest sodium share and dinner the highest. The opening also repeats the idea that nutrients can be unhealthy rather than summarising the data. The response is three words below the required minimum, and fuller, accurate coverage of the main patterns is needed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to further details. The overview does highlight some key figures, which gives the reader a starting point. However, the progression is weak because the final paragraph repeats the general point about health risks and then introduces comparisons without developing them. Linking words such as “Overall” and “while” are present, but relationships between ideas are not always clear, particularly in “The maximum amount of sodium is highest in all three main meals.” Organise the body around clear comparisons—for instance, dinner versus snacks, followed by breakfast and lunch—and use references such as “this meal” only when their meaning is unmistakable.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant chart vocabulary, including “percentage,” “sodium,” “saturated fats,” “added sugars,” and “highest,” so the topic is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “main factors,” “amount,” and “in heavy amount basis.” Some word choices and forms make the meaning less natural, including “harmfull” and “the every individuals's health.” Aim for concise, accurate language for describing proportions and comparisons, rather than repeating that the nutrients may be dangerous. Check spelling and use standard collocations such as “accounted for” or “made up” when reporting a share.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts both simple statements and longer sentences, and the reader can identify the main figures. However, grammatical control is inconsistent, with errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “The given pie chart illustrate” should use a singular verb, while “The sodium is have highest amount” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “But sometimes it will be harmfull” is also awkwardly constructed, and punctuation is often missing around figures and clauses. These errors sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Practise building clear comparison sentences with a subject and verb, such as “Dinner accounts for the largest share of sodium,” and proofread agreement and punctuation.
