Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
Student answer (Band 5.5)
This picture illustrate that in USA how much sodium, saturated fat and added sugar is consumed at different times.
So in breakfast sodium, saturated fat and sugar consumption is 14%,16%,16% so sodium consumption is less than others two.
In lunch sodium more than the others two with average percentage of 29% that is more than saturatred fats 26% and sugar average percentage is 19%
At dinner time sodium is more consumed in meals with average percentage of 43% then saturated fat and added sugar with average percentage of 37% and 23% .
At snacks times added sugar is consumed more with an average percentage of 42% then saturated fat with 21% and sodium with 14%.
So from thses data analysis I conclude that in breakfast sodium is less consumed than other too, In lunch sodium consuption is more , In dinner also sodium consumption is more and in snacks added sugar consumption is more.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You report figures for all four meal types and all three nutrients, and the comparisons are generally accurate: for example, dinner has the highest sodium and saturated-fat shares, while snacks have the highest added-sugar share. However, the response lacks a clear, separate overview of the main patterns; the final sentence mostly repeats earlier details rather than synthesising them. Some comparisons are also imprecise: at breakfast, sodium is tied with neither nutrient but is lower than both, while at lunch sodium is the highest. A stronger response would state the broad contrast—that dinner leads for sodium and saturated fat, whereas snacks lead for added sugar—and then support it with selected figures. This would make the key features clearer and more fully developed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a sensible meal-by-meal order, moving from breakfast through lunch and dinner to snacks, so the reader can locate the comparisons. Basic linking words such as “So,” “In lunch,” and “At dinner time” also signal transitions. However, the writing is presented as one continuous sequence rather than clearly organised paragraphs, and the repeated concluding summary does not add a new stage of development. Several links are mechanical, especially the repeated “then” when comparing values, and the opening does not lead into a distinct overview. Grouping the introduction and overview separately from the detailed comparisons, and using more varied comparison links such as “whereas” or “by contrast,” would improve progression and cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use the key topic vocabulary—“sodium,” “saturated fat,” “added sugar,” and “average percentage”—so the subject remains understandable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “consumption is more” and “average percentage.” Some word choices and collocations are awkward, such as “in USA how much … is consumed at different times” and “At snacks times,” while spelling errors including “saturatred” and “thses” reduce accuracy. Aim for concise chart language, for example, “accounted for,” “proportion,” and “was highest,” rather than repeatedly describing consumption as “more.” More precise and varied vocabulary would make the comparisons easier to follow and sound more appropriate for an academic report.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response communicates the basic comparisons, but it relies mainly on simple sentence patterns and shows frequent grammatical errors. The opening, “This picture illustrate that in USA how much … is consumed,” has problems with subject–verb agreement and sentence structure. Other examples include “In lunch sodium more than the others two,” which lacks a complete verb phrase, and “At dinner time sodium is more consumed … then saturated fat,” where the comparison is not formed correctly. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the final sentence. Practise complete comparative sentences, such as “At lunch, sodium accounts for 29%, compared with 26% for saturated fat and 19% for sugar.” This would improve accuracy while allowing more varied structures.
