Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5
You identify the main patterns accurately: breakfast has the lowest shares for sodium and added sugar, dinner is highest for sodium and saturated fat, and snacks lead for added sugar. The figures you report—such as 43% sodium at dinner and 42% added sugar in snacks—match the chart, and you cover all four meal categories. The overview is clear, although “breakfast has the lowest proportion of all three” is not quite accurate because snacks, at 14%, are lower than breakfast’s 16% for saturated fat. Also, the overview’s claim that sodium and saturated fat are highly consumed in “dinner and snacks” is imprecise: dinner is highest for both, while snacks are not. A more exact overview and clearer comparisons would strengthen an already well-supported summary.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for sodium and saturated fat, then added sugars. This helps the reader follow the chart, and transitions such as “Speaking of sodium” and “In case of added sugars” signal changes in focus. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. “Same goes for saturated fat” does not fully explain the comparison, and “On the contrary” suggests a contrast where you are mainly continuing the description. The overview also combines several claims in a long sentence, making its relationships less clear. Use more precise linking and organise comparisons consistently—for example, describe the highest and lowest meal shares for each nutrient—while retaining the clear paragraph progression already present.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “contribution,” “percentage,” “highest,” and “least,” so the meaning is generally recoverable. There is some attempt at variety, but word choice and spelling are noticeably inaccurate and sometimes make the description less natural. Examples include “contributer,” “propotion,” “ingdrients,” and “contrituber”; “highly consumed” is also an awkward way to describe percentages in meals. Repeated use of “contribution” and “adding” limits flexibility, while “other snacks” is less precise than simply “snacks.” Aim for accurate spelling and natural collocations such as “accounted for,” “share,” and “made up.” These improvements would make the vocabulary more precise and fluent without requiring unnecessarily complex terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mixture of sentence forms, including longer comparisons, and the reader can usually understand the intended figures. However, errors in agreement, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation are frequent enough to affect fluency. For example, “The given pie charts provides” has a plural subject with a singular verb, while “breakfast and snacks have equal and minimum contribution” needs a clearer grammatical structure. “Lunch having a percentage of 29%” is a fragment rather than a complete clause, and “the dinner at the top with 37% contribution” also lacks a finite verb. There are further punctuation problems, such as the missing space after “respectively.” Practise forming complete clauses and checking subject–verb agreement, then use complex comparisons only when their structure is controlled.
