Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You identify the main pattern: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead in added sugar. You also include several relevant figures, such as 43% sodium and 37% saturated fat at dinner, and note that breakfast and snacks each account for 14% of sodium. However, coverage is partial and some comparisons are inaccurate: lunch sodium is 29%, not “around 26%,” and breakfast is not lowest for every nutrient because its sodium share ties with snacks. The claim that breakfast has the least amount of all three nutrients is therefore too broad. Added sugar at dinner and lunch is mentioned, but the key contrast with snacks at 42% needs clearer development. The response is also five words below the 150-word minimum; the 11 words copied from the task prompt are excluded.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to an overview and then to details. This gives the reader some organisation, and phrases such as “From the chart” and “An analysis from the chart reveals” signal that you are discussing evidence. However, progression is limited because the final two paragraphs repeat points already made, especially dinner’s high sodium and saturated fat and the low breakfast figures. Connections between comparisons are sometimes unclear, and “While Dinner…” is left as a fragment after the overview sentence. Group the information by nutrient or by meal, and use each paragraph to add a distinct comparison rather than restating the overview.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “average percentages,” “composition,” “portion,” and the nutrient names, so the topic is generally clear. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repetitive or imprecise: “consumption of nutrients” is used repeatedly, although the figures represent each nutrient’s share across meals, and “huge portion” is informal for an academic report. There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice problems, including “cosumption” and “luch,” as well as awkward phrases such as “more in portion.” These sometimes make the intended comparison less clear. Use precise terms such as “share,” “proportion,” and “accounted for,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and more complex comparisons, but the range is limited and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “Breakfast had the least amount … compare to other meals” has an incorrect comparative structure, while “Breakfast and Snacks were same” is missing a necessary verb complement. The sentence beginning “While Dinner had…” is not a complete sentence, and “Lunch has around 26%” shifts tense in a past-data description. Commas are also placed awkwardly before clauses, as in “From the chart it is evident that,”. Practise complete sentence structures, consistent past tense, and accurate comparative forms; these changes would make your comparisons easier to follow.
