Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.5

You cover all three nutrients and report the main patterns accurately: dinner is highest for sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%), while snacks lead for added sugar (42%). The comparisons with lunch and the smaller breakfast shares also support your summary, and the overview identifies the key contrast. To make the account more fully developed, avoid adding claims that the chart cannot establish, such as “These figures highlight the cautions about intake” and “the main source … in Americas food”; the data show meal shares, not health effects or national dietary conclusions beyond the chart. You could also make the overview more precise by noting that breakfast has the lowest share of saturated fat and added sugar, while breakfast and snacks tie for sodium.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0

The response has a clear overall progression: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for sodium, saturated fat, and added sugar. This makes the information easy to locate, and linking phrases such as “For sodium,” “Regarding saturated fat,” and “In terms of added sugar” guide the reader through the categories. However, the overview’s second sentence is a fragment beginning “While snacks…,” and the final paragraph’s “the pattern was changed” does not connect the contrast smoothly. Some repetition—particularly repeating that dinner or snacks are the leading source after already giving the figures—also limits flexibility. Connect the overview clauses into complete sentences and use comparisons to link categories more efficiently.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounts for,” “largest share,” and “representing,” so the main information is generally understandable. However, spelling and word-choice problems are noticeable: “differetn,” “snaks,” “potientially,” “followd,” and “contributer” reduce accuracy. Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “major provider” and “in dinner time”; “source” or “share” would fit this chart more naturally. The phrase “the pattern was changed” is imprecise for describing a contrast. Aim for accurate, natural reporting language and proofread carefully, especially for common words and repeated chart terms.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt some complex structures, including “While snacks are the leading source of added sugar” and the sentence comparing dinner and lunch, but control is inconsistent. The “While” clause is left without a main clause, so it forms a fragment. There are also errors in verb forms and agreement: “dinner also take” should be “dinner also takes,” “Lunch hold” should be “Lunch holds,” and “Snacks was” should be “Snacks were.” Missing articles and sentence structure affect phrases such as “take biggest portion” and “the pattern was changed snacks are…”. Use complete sentences, check subject–verb agreement, and punctuate contrasts clearly; these changes would make your range more controlled.
