overall, the mostoutstanding feature of the pie chart is that the percentage of all three nutients is low in breakfast however, it was highest in dinner .
To begin with, in sanks the percentage of sodium was 14% while it increased by 7 % in the case of saturated fat . The percentage of sodium and saturated fat was almost similar for lunch however, it was relatively low in case of added sugar.
Probing further, the consumption of sodium was same in breakfast or sanks while, the percantage varies in case of rest of other nutrient. Added sugar was consumed by people 16%,19%and 23% respectively. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify the chart topic and make an attempt at an overview, noting that breakfast is low and dinner is high. However, the overview is inaccurate: dinner is not highest for all three nutrients, because added sugar peaks in snacks at 42%. Several comparisons are also unclear or incorrect. For example, sodium and saturated fat in lunch are 29% and 26%, not “almost similar” without specifying the figures, while added sugar is 19%. The final sentence does not clearly explain the 42% snack figure. The response also contains only 133 words, below the required 150, and this limits the detail available. Select the main highs and lows accurately, then support them with clear comparisons across meals.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details, and phrases such as “To begin with” and “Probing further” signal progression. However, the organisation does not consistently guide the reader through the data. The first detail paragraph focuses on snacks and lunch, while the next returns to breakfast and then gives an unclear comparison about added sugar. Linking words are sometimes used awkwardly, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear, particularly in “while, the percentage varies in case of rest of other nutrient.” Group the information more systematically—for example, compare the highest meal for each nutrient, then the lowest—and use transitions that accurately show contrast or continuation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “average percentages,” “consumption,” and “increased,” and the reader can generally recognise that the response concerns nutrient proportions in meals. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings reduce clarity: “sanks” appears instead of “snacks,” “nutients” instead of “nutrients,” and “comsumption” instead of “consumption.” Phrases such as “the most outstanding feature” and “was about less than half” are unnatural or imprecise for describing chart data. Use standard terms such as “accounted for,” “was highest,” and “proportion,” and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help distinguish the figures and comparisons without relying on vague wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including clauses joined with “while” and “however,” so there is some variety. Nevertheless, errors in sentence construction and punctuation are frequent enough to make several statements difficult to follow. For instance, “overall, the mostoutstanding feature … is that the percentage … is low … however, it was highest” has inconsistent capitalisation, spacing, and unclear pronoun reference. In “Added sugar was consumed by people 16%,19%and 23% respectively,” the figures are not integrated into a grammatical sentence. Commas are also misplaced around “while.” Practise writing complete comparison sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and use punctuation to separate clauses accurately.
