Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You attempt an overview by noting that dinner is high for two nutrients and snacks lead in added sugar, which identifies some important features. However, several key figures and comparisons are misreported: breakfast is not highest in sodium or saturated fat; dinner is highest at 43% and 37%, respectively. The claim that breakfast is lowest across all three nutrients is also inaccurate, since snacks share the lowest sodium figure with breakfast, while lunch is lowest for added sugar. Some figures are mentioned, but the account does not reliably summarise the charts, and phrases such as “only 23% people consumer breakfast” confuse the meal and nutrient being described. Focus on accurate overall patterns before adding selected figures.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction, an overview and paragraphs about the charts, and linking words such as “Overall,” “However” and “While” show an effort to connect ideas. Nevertheless, the progression is difficult to follow because the discussion shifts between nutrients and meals without a clear organising principle. For example, “The first pie in one and four” and “second pie chart in two lunch” do not make the comparisons understandable. Some connectors introduce relationships that are unclear or contradictory. Group the information by nutrient or by meal, use clear topic sentences, and refer consistently to breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks so the reader can track each comparison.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “percentage,” “nutrients,” “highest,” “lowest” and “accounted,” so the subject is recognisable. However, vocabulary is often basic, repetitive or inaccurately chosen, and several errors make the intended meaning hard to recover. Examples include “different percentage,” “very fluctuate,” “soditoum,” “three industry” and “people perfere.” Phrases such as “Breakfast dropped normally” and “Dinner stood least” are not natural ways to describe chart data. Use precise terms such as “proportion,” “accounted for,” “peaked at” and “was the smallest share,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt a few longer structures, including “all of which may be unhealthy if consumer eat too much” and sentences beginning with “While,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms frequently obscure the comparisons. For instance, “Dinner significantly highest” lacks a verb, while “Breakfast was the highest in soditoum and saturated fat to 43% and 37%” has an incorrect construction for reporting values. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “Overall, It” and “TO beign with.” Build clear subject–verb sentences, for example, “Dinner accounted for 43% of sodium,” and check that each sentence has a complete clause and accurately expresses the comparison.
