Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You identify several important patterns, including dinner as the highest meal for sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%), and snacks as the highest for added sugar (42%). This gives the response a relevant overview and shows that you have understood the broad comparisons. However, some details are inaccurate or unclear: added sugar is not lowest at breakfast; breakfast is 16%, while lunch is lower at 19% only if comparing? In fact, breakfast is the lowest at 16%, so the claim that it is the least considerable item at 23% confuses the dinner figure with the minimum. The overview also says sodium dominates all meal types, although it is not highest in snacks. Covering the key patterns accurately and distinguishing meal-specific highs and lows would make the summary more complete and precise.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has an overall structure, moving from an introduction to broad comparisons and then a concluding overview. Connectors such as “in contrast” and “meanwhile” show an attempt to relate the data. However, progression is difficult to follow because the comparisons are packed into long, loosely connected sentences, and some links do not clearly express the intended relationship. For example, the sentence beginning “Overall sodium is stood at peaks” combines several figures without a clear sequence, while the final paragraph repeats earlier points and introduces further comparisons. Use separate, focused paragraphs for the overview and key details, and group the figures by nutrient or by meal. Clearer referencing and fewer repeated conclusions would improve the flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt task-relevant vocabulary such as “proportion,” “accounted for,” “dominated,” and “in contrast,” and you use terms for all three nutrients. However, inaccurate word choice and spelling frequently make the meaning less clear. Phrases such as “sodium is stood at peaks,” “least considerable item,” and “sugar is most preferable ingredient” are not natural ways to describe chart data. There are also repeated spelling errors, including “porportion,” “respecivly,” and “descreased.” Aim for precise, conventional reporting language, such as “accounted for,” “was highest,” and “the lowest share,” and check spelling carefully. This would make your comparisons easier to understand without requiring a much wider vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt longer sentences and use some comparative structures, but control of sentence formation is limited. Errors in verb forms and sentence structure appear in examples such as “sodium is stood at peaks” and “sugar is accounted as least considerable item”; these make relationships between the figures difficult to interpret. Articles and plural forms are also often missing or inconsistent, as in “in dinner” and “all kind of daily life food products.” Several clauses are joined without clear punctuation, particularly in the long overview sentences, so the reader has to work out where one comparison ends and another begins. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with controlled clauses using “while” or “whereas.”
