Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main meal patterns and report several accurate figures: dinner is highest for sodium (43%) and saturated fat (37%), while snacks lead for added sugar. The overview also correctly notes breakfast’s low contribution. However, the opening claim that snacks have the maximum sodium and saturated fat is inaccurate and conflicts with your later account; dinner is highest for both. The saturated-fat figures for lunch and snacks are also reversed: lunch is 26% and snacks 21%. Your description of added sugar is less developed, since it gives only dinner’s figure and does not report the leading snack share of 42%. The response is also two words below the required minimum. Check the chart carefully and include the key comparisons consistently.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, separate paragraphs for sodium and saturated fat, then added sugar, followed by a brief overview. This makes the information easy to follow, and signposts such as “Regarding sodium” and “Focusing on added sugar” help readers navigate the categories. The progression is generally logical, though the opening overview contradicts the later details, which weakens the flow of information. The final overview is also quite brief and repeats the point about breakfast without summarising the contrasting pattern for snacks. To strengthen cohesion further, make the overview consistent with the data and use comparisons to link categories, rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of task-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “recorded,” “followed by,” and “highest proportion,” and the meaning is generally clear. There are, however, several spelling and word-choice problems: “illustates,” “snaks,” and “poeple” are misspelled, while “maximum amount” is less precise than language such as “largest share.” The phrase “into four type of meals” is also an awkward collocation, and “with the exception added sugar” is unclear. These slips do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for accurate chart-description phrases such as “accounted for,” “contributed,” and “respectively,” and proofread spelling and collocations before finishing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and more complex sentence forms, including participial openings such as “Focusing on added sugar” and comparison structures such as “followed by 29% from lunch.” Most sentences communicate their intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “four type of meals” needs a plural noun, and “people get maximum amount of it” is missing an article before “maximum amount.” The construction “with the exception added sugar” is incomplete, and “just over the doubled figure” is not formed correctly. There is also some awkward control of prepositions in “proportion … into four type.” Improve article use, plural forms, and sentence construction while retaining the range of structures you already attempt.
