Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You identify the main pattern: dinner has the largest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead in added sugar. Several figures are accurate, including dinner’s 43% sodium and 37% saturated fat, and snacks’ 42% added sugar. However, the lunch figures are not fully accurate: added sugar is 19%, not 29%. The overview also says breakfast has the smallest shares across all three nutrients, but breakfast and snacks are tied for sodium at 14%. The final claim that both dinner and snacks have high amounts is broad and not clearly supported by a comparison. The response is 148 words, below the 150-word minimum; add a little accurate detail and clarify the overview.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, an overview and paragraphs describing meal categories. Grouping dinner and snacks together before discussing breakfast and lunch gives the reader some useful organisation. However, progression is not consistently clear: the sentence “Additionaly dinner and snacks had high amount of unhealthy nutrients” repeats earlier information rather than adding a comparison. Transitions such as “Regarding” and “In lunch” are used awkwardly, and several ideas run together because punctuation and spacing are missing after full stops. Organise the details more deliberately—for example, compare the highest and lowest meal shares for each nutrient—and use linking phrases to show those comparisons.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “shares,” “contributes” and “highest,” so the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, the range is limited and some phrases are repetitive or imprecise, such as “high amount” and “small shares.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “nutirents,” “sigar,” “Additionaly” and “starurated,” which reduce accuracy and polish. Some collocations are unnatural, for example “dinner sodium is the main source” and “breakfast consistently represent the smallest shares.” Choose precise terms for proportions and vary how you describe the largest and smallest figures; check spelling carefully before submitting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently in sentence structure and agreement. For example, “dinner have” should be “dinner has,” while “snacks contributes” should be “snacks contribute.” The opening phrase “if eat in a high amount” is grammatically incomplete; a correct form would be “if eaten in large amounts.” There are also problems with articles and sentence boundaries, as in “Regarding dinner sodium is the main source” and the run-together sentence ending “23%.Snacks.” Most sentences rely on basic patterns, and longer constructions are not yet controlled consistently. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, complete clauses and punctuation between sentences.
