Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You identify the subject of the charts and include some relevant figures, such as dinner accounting for 43% of sodium and snacks for 42% of added sugar. However, the report only partially selects and describes the main features. The overview is unclear and includes unsupported health claims (“very harmful for health” and effects on stress), which are not shown by the charts. Some comparisons are inaccurate or difficult to interpret: for example, saturated fat at dinner is 37%, not a “low amount” compared with sodium, and the statement that lunch, dinner and breakfast are similar does not reflect the distinct figures. To strengthen the response, give a clear overview of the contrasting peaks—dinner for sodium and saturated fat, snacks for added sugar—and compare the meal percentages accurately.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: the response begins by introducing the charts, then attempts to discuss figures, and ends with a summary. However, the progression is not clear, and the final overview repeats or contradicts earlier points. Phrases such as “In lunch time are almost same percentage of both” do not make clear which nutrients are being compared, while “the highly using meal is snacks” is difficult to connect to the data. Linking words such as “moreover” are used, but they do not establish a precise relationship between ideas. Group the information by the main patterns, use one paragraph for an overview and another for comparisons, and make references explicit—for example, specify which nutrient and meal each percentage describes.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses some task-related vocabulary, including “average percentages,” “sodium,” “saturated fat,” “added sugars,” and “comparison.” This gives the reader a basic sense of the topic. However, the range is limited, and repeated or inaccurate expressions make several points hard to understand: “highly using meal,” “the sugar are using,” and “large amount of using” are not natural ways to describe chart data. There are also spelling errors, including “curculation,” “increas,” “smilier,” and “similur.” Use precise reporting language such as “accounted for,” “was highest in,” and “the proportion of,” and check spelling and collocations. Avoid health-related vocabulary that is not relevant to the figures.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer comparisons, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors are frequent enough to make some relationships unclear. For example, “In lunch time are almost same percentage of both” lacks a clear subject and has an incomplete verb structure; “the added sugar is using large amount” also has faulty verb construction. Agreement and articles are inconsistent in “the sugar are using” and “the breakfast in the same almost.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also unreliable, including the lowercase “looking” after a full stop and missing spaces after commas. Build accurate simple sentences first, such as “At lunch, sodium accounts for 29%,” then practise joining comparisons with “while” or “whereas.”
