Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main contrasts accurately: sodium and saturated fat peak at dinner (43% and 37%), while added sugar is highest in snacks (42%). You also report several supporting figures correctly, including sodium at 29% for lunch and the equal 14% shares at breakfast and snacks. This gives the response a clear overview and covers all three nutrients. However, the claim that percentages are “quite low in breakfast and lunch time” is too broad: lunch is relatively high for sodium and saturated fat, and snacks are low for sodium but highest for sugar. The saturated-fat figures for breakfast and the added-sugar figures could also be compared more clearly. More precise, nutrient-specific comparisons would strengthen the overview and make the selected features more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs describing the nutrients. This makes the information generally easy to follow, and the repeated focus on one nutrient at a time provides a sensible progression. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. For example, “While during breakfast and snacks” is an awkward transition, and “16% and 19% simultaneously” does not clearly identify which figure belongs to which meal. Several sentences run together after full stops, such as “snacks. In addition” and “consumption. While,” which weakens the flow. Use clear sentence boundaries and more precise references, and group comparisons where useful, to make the progression smoother and cohesion less repetitive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant task vocabulary such as “percentages,” “consumption,” and “moderate,” and the reader can understand the main comparisons. There is some attempt to vary wording, including “highly consumed” and “changes abruptly,” but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural for describing chart data. “Neutrients” is not the correct term, “in a much quantity” is unclear, and “night meal” is less suitable than “dinner.” Spelling errors such as “amounyt,” “snakcs,” and “Morover” are noticeable, while “simultaneously” is not the right word for listing two values. Greater accuracy in collocations and spelling, alongside a wider range of precise comparison language, would improve control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, including clauses introduced by “while” and “when it comes to.” The basic meaning is usually clear, but some grammatical errors and punctuation problems remain. For example, “the Sodium and Saturated fat consumption is” has a plural subject with a singular verb, and “which may be unhealthy if eaten a in much quantity” has faulty article and phrase structure. The sentence beginning “While during breakfast…” is a fragment, and several sentence boundaries are missing spaces after full stops. Work on subject–verb agreement, complete clause structure, articles, and punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would demonstrate stronger grammatical control.
