Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main contrast accurately: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The overview therefore captures the chart’s central pattern, and you report several relevant figures, including 43% sodium at dinner, 37% saturated fat at dinner, and 42% added sugar in snacks. However, the detail is not consistently precise: the sentence beginning “Looking at first consumed snacks” assigns 43% to dinner but describes the comparison unclearly, and the final saturated-fat figures reverse breakfast and snacks (breakfast is 16%, snacks 21%). You cover all three nutrients, but some comparisons are less fully or clearly reported. More accurate, clearly grouped comparisons would strengthen the response further.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, and separate paragraphs for the nutrient data. This gives the reader a coherent overall route through the information. You also use sequencing expressions such as “Overall,” “Moreover,” and “Finally.” However, some links are mechanical or confusing. For example, “Looking at first consumed snacks” does not clearly signal which meal or nutrient is being discussed, and “At the last” is an awkward transition. The paragraph on sodium also moves from dinner to lunch and then snacks and breakfast without a clear comparison pattern. Grouping each nutrient’s figures in a consistent order, and using clearer references, would make the progression easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant chart vocabulary, including “proportion,” “recorded,” “stood at,” and “consumed,” so the topic is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate enough to make parts difficult to interpret. “Snakes was consumed by added more sugar” appears to mean that snacks had the highest added-sugar share, while “highest consumining time” is not a natural way to describe a meal category. There are also noticeable spelling and word-form errors, such as “proportation,” “percenatge,” and “consumining.” Aim for precise, repeatable expressions such as “accounted for,” “the highest proportion,” and “the figure for snacks.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can usually identify the intended comparisons. Nevertheless, control is uneven, and errors in agreement, sentence construction, and punctuation sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For instance, “sodium and saturated fat was highest” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Saturated fat stood at 37 percent … which makes it was highest consumed” combines incompatible verb forms. The sentence beginning “While compared to lunch” is also not a complete, well-formed comparison. Some comma use creates awkward breaks, as in “whereas, snakes.” Practise building clear comparison sentences with consistent past-tense verbs and check agreement and clause boundaries.
