Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main contrast accurately: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The figures you give for dinner and snacks are also consistent with the chart. You cover all four meal categories and include relevant comparisons, which makes the response a suitable summary. However, some details are unclear or incomplete: the lunch sentence gives sodium and added sugar but does not report the correct saturated-fat figure of 26%, and the breakfast statement groups the nutrients as “14–16%” rather than specifying that added sugar and saturated fat are both 16%. The overview is relevant but could more clearly compare the overall patterns across all three nutrients.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a brief overview, and paragraphs describing meal categories. This helps the reader follow the chart, and phrases such as “At night time meal” and “In snacks” signal changes in focus. However, the organisation is not always the most effective for comparison: breakfast and dinner are discussed together, then lunch and snacks, rather than grouping the highest and lowest figures or comparing each nutrient consistently. Some links are also unclear, as in “There did not show any huge different of any sources,” where the relationship to the lunch figures is difficult to follow. More precise referencing and a consistent comparison pattern would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of vocabulary relevant to describing proportions, including “significant amount,” “main source,” and “proportion.” These choices show an effort to avoid repeating basic terms. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, sometimes making the meaning less clear: “average ratio,” “harmful if eaten extra amount of proportion,” and “saturated fat and added sugar showed … sources” do not express the intended ideas naturally. “Respectfully” is also the wrong word where you mean “respectively.” Use standard chart language such as “share,” “accounted for,” and “respectively,” and check whether nouns such as “nutrients” and “meals” fit the meaning you intend.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and some more developed sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the comparisons. However, grammatical control is uneven, with errors in sentence structure, agreement, and articles. For example, “the significant amount of sugar they consumed by their snacks” is not a complete, well-formed comparison, while “sodium and saturated fat had taken considerably at dinner” has an incorrect verb construction. In “the people of USA took big proportion,” the article and sentence pattern are also faulty. The breakfast sentence, “they ate least amount of food and depicted only 14-16%,” does not clearly connect the people, meal, and nutrient percentages. Practise accurate comparative clauses and complete subject–verb structures.
