Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You identify the main patterns accurately: sodium and saturated fat peak at dinner, while added sugar is highest in snacks. The figures you give for the meals are also consistent with the chart, and the response covers all three nutrients. This supports a clear, relevant summary. However, the overview is not fully precise: “Snacks which are heigher than others” does not explicitly say that snacks have the highest added-sugar share, and the final comparison that breakfast is lower for “both Sodium and Saturated Fat” is inaccurate for saturated fat, since breakfast is lower than snacks but not all other meals. Some comparisons are also repeated rather than developed. State the key contrasts once in a concise overview, then select the most informative details to support it.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction and overview to details about each nutrient. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “The third one” help readers follow the categories. However, progression becomes repetitive: the final sentences restate that dinner is highest for sodium and saturated fat and that snacks lead in added sugar, without adding a new comparison. Several long sentences join multiple points with commas, making relationships less clear, as in the sentence beginning “The third one is Added sugar nutrients.” Paragraphing is also limited, with the detailed comparisons presented as one continuous block. Use separate paragraphs for the overview and grouped details, and connect comparisons more directly rather than relying on repeated sequencing markers.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant task vocabulary, including “percentages,” “proportion,” “account for” and the names of all three nutrients, so the meaning is generally understandable. There is some repetition of “account for,” “highest” and “meals,” and several word-choice or spelling problems reduce precision: “heigher,” “hieghest,” “ammounts” and “percantage” are misspelled, while “nutrients consumed in different meals” is less natural than describing the shares of nutrients across meals. “These are three typical meals” is also inaccurate because the chart includes snacks as well as meals. Build a more varied set of comparison phrases, such as “made up,” “was the largest share” and “was followed by,” and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, and the reader can usually understand the comparisons. However, control is uneven, particularly in sentences joined by commas or with incomplete clause structures. For example, “The charts illustrate …, these nutrients may be unhealthy” joins two independent clauses incorrectly, and “while Dinner 23% are less then Snacks” lacks a clear grammatical structure. Subject–verb agreement is also inconsistent in “Sodium account” and “Lunch consumed 19%.” Capitalisation and spacing around punctuation are unreliable, as in “dinner ,whereas” and “dinner, while.” Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, checking that each subject has a matching verb; then combine ideas with accurate conjunctions and punctuation.
