Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

You identify the main patterns accurately: dinner has the highest shares of sodium and saturated fat, while snacks lead for added sugar. The overview also notes the equal sodium proportions for breakfast and snacks, and the body includes the key figures for all three nutrients. This gives the response a clear, relevant account of the charts. To make the summary more fully developed, compare the meal patterns more directly across nutrients—for example, point out that dinner is the largest source of sodium and saturated fat, whereas snacks are the largest source of added sugar. The final health comment is not required by the chart task and takes space from further data comparison. There is also one factual slip: the 14% sodium figures are for breakfast and snacks, not lunch and snacks.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, an overview, a paragraph of figures, and a concluding sentence. The overview helps readers see the main contrasts before the details, and linking expressions such as “followed by” and “Moreover” support the sequence. However, the body’s comparisons are sometimes difficult to follow because the meal order changes, and the incorrect reference to lunch and snacks having equal sodium shares disrupts the progression. The conclusion repeats a general health point rather than synthesising the chart. Grouping the information consistently—first sodium and saturated fat, then added sugar—and using clearer references to each meal would make cohesion less mechanical and the comparisons easier to track.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of chart-related vocabulary, including “proportion,” “accounts for,” “considerable amount,” and “followed by.” These choices help communicate the main comparisons, and the meaning is generally clear. Some word choices and collocations are less natural, however: “qunantity” is misspelled, “contans” is also misspelled, and “detrimental ramifications on health” is an awkwardly elaborate phrase for this task. “Sugar” would be more precise as “added sugar,” matching the chart label, while “fat” could be specified as “saturated fat.” Aim for accurate, concise terms rather than ornate wording, and check spelling carefully; these improvements would make the vocabulary more precise and controlled.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple statements and some more developed sentence forms, such as “Added sugar has highest proportion in snacks followed by dinner, lunch and breakfast.” Most of the data remains understandable, but some grammatical errors are noticeable. For example, “Sodium and saturated fat quantity is highest” has a subject–verb agreement problem and an awkward singular construction; “lunch which have proportion” also has incorrect agreement. Articles are missing in phrases such as “has highest proportion,” and the comma spacing in “To conclude ,I” is inaccurate. Practise forming comparisons with accurate subjects and verbs—for example, “The proportions of sodium and saturated fat are highest at dinner”—and proofread articles, agreement, and punctuation. More consistently accurate complex sentences would strengthen control.
