Student answer (Band 5.5)

Good and bad situation are part of ones life. It is because of these situation one grow as a person. And, to accept bad situation ones destiny such as money problem and undesired work conditions is not fair. On the contrary it is always better to learn from those difficult situation and improve them. In my opinion improving the situation is better than accepting it.

Thier are times when people do not have any other option but, to accept the situation as they are. Like, due to finnancal conditions individual has so odd job , job which they hate. But, for the sake survival he can not abandone it . At times like these it is better to accept the situation as it is. There are things which can not be changes such things should be left as they are. Defying those situation can cause mental health issue too.

On the contrary, times and situation are not constant they are dynamic in nature. So, one should remain optimistic when he faces difficult situation. If he reamins persevrent there is high chance that situation became better over time. In my opinion, one should not get depresed though time comes on the otherhand he should learn from the situation and overcome it.

In conclusion, accepting bad situation will do no good, intead one should always work hard to improve such conditions.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You discuss both responses to hardship and state a clear preference for trying to improve a situation, especially in the opening and conclusion. The examples of keeping an unwanted job for survival and remaining optimistic give the essay relevant content. However, the discussion is only partial: the reasons for accepting a bad situation are briefly asserted, and the argument for improvement is mostly general rather than supported with a specific example or explanation. The position also shifts slightly when you say acceptance may be necessary, without clarifying how this fits your overall view. The response is 21 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop both sides. Explain each view more fully and show why your preferred approach is better.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “On the contrary” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt: the point about an unwanted job moves quickly to the claim that some things cannot be changed, without explaining the link. Several transitions are also repetitive or not quite suited to the relationship between ideas, and “On the contrary” is used where a simple contrast marker would be clearer. Improve cohesion by linking each example directly to the claim it supports and using pronouns or transitions with clear references. This would make the overall argument easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “destiny,” “survival,” “optimistic,” and “overcome,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. There are also attempts to express abstract ideas, such as situations being “dynamic in nature.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which occasionally makes the message less clear. Examples include “bad situation,” repeated several times, “undesired work conditions,” and “Defying those situation.” Spelling errors such as “Thier,” “finnancal,” and “persevrent” are noticeable. Build a wider set of precise phrases for hardship and change, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “If he remains perseverant…” and a contrast between accepting and improving circumstances. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to read. For example, “Good and bad situation are part of ones life” has problems with number and possessive form, while “one grow as a person” has subject–verb agreement trouble. In “individual has so odd job,” the sentence structure and article use are unclear; “There are things which can not be changes” also has an incorrect verb form. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, plurals, and verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a complete, clear structure.
