Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days,it is believed by many individual that learning to embrace the situaion that we dont want is goood. However, some argues that trying to do better is good than tryingto embrace. In my analysis, trying a little hard is better tha regretting later in life. However,in this essay i will try to depict my perspective about both opinion.

To begin with, people tend to accept their fate and be satisfied with whatever they have got.Instead of not getting anything it is better off to be happy with whatever we have is something mnay people think.I indeed agree with this statement because there are so many people out there in the world who have to work endlessley although they have to think twice before buying a simple meal. For instance:A human without house or no good food is given some hard pay job with minimal wages.He\she would definately take the job despite the low income as he\she could earn livelihood from the same money instead of not having anything with him\her.So,most of the people tend to work ones fingers to bone nevertheless the low income.

In contrast,Despite several positive side cannot be overlooked. In this regard,i would argue that trying very hard until you get it is somthing i strongly believe in.There is a saying that says if you want something very much and work tiredlessly for it even the universe sides with you and this sentence has touched me very deeply to core. For illustration:There was a girl who really wanted to work in google however she couldnt get in even after 50 trails. But she never gave up and work even harder.Eventually she got her job and shi is living her best life now.

To conclude,I think it is better to live life happily doing your thing that you love rather than regretting later.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both views and give a clear preference for trying to improve a difficult situation, especially in the introduction and conclusion. The examples are relevant: the low-paid worker illustrates why someone may accept an unsatisfactory job, while the applicant who persists in seeking work at Google supports your own view. This covers the task, but the two sides are not developed equally. The first example explains accepting a job for basic needs, yet the discussion could clarify when acceptance is sensible and how it relates to a shortage of money. The second example is more anecdotal than analytical. Explain the broader benefit of persistence and acknowledge its limits to make the reasoning more fully developed.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin with” and “In contrast” help signal the change in argument, and the examples generally follow the points they support. However, some links feel mechanical or unclear. “Despite several positive side cannot be overlooked” does not clearly connect to the preceding paragraph, and the conclusion introduces “doing your thing that you love,” which is not fully established in the discussion. Some sentences also contain several ideas without clear boundaries. Use more precise links between claims and examples, and ensure the conclusion restates the argument developed in the body.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related expressions, including “accept their fate,” “minimal wages,” “never gave up,” and “living her best life,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as the saying about the universe supporting someone’s efforts. However, inaccurate word choice, spelling, and collocation are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “work ones fingers to bone,” “50 trails,” and “work tiredlessly” are examples. Some wording is also informal or imprecise for an academic essay. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully; choosing straightforward phrases such as “persisted despite repeated rejections” would communicate your point more clearly than an uncertain idiom.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a conditional example (“although they have to think twice before buying a simple meal”) and a relative clause (“a girl who really wanted to work in Google”). The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence construction and control are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “some argues” has subject–verb disagreement, “trying to do better is good than” has an incorrect comparative structure, and “she never gave up and work even harder” shifts verb form. Several sentences also run together, particularly in the opening and the example paragraphs. Practise agreement, consistent verb forms, and sentence boundaries, then proofread punctuation and capitalisation.
