Student answer (Band 5.5)

In our current times, the acceptance of diffcult times such as unsatifactory jobs or financial contraints are increasing, whereas on the other hand some believes that trying to change such situations are needed rather than living with it. In this easy I will examine both thoughts of acceptance of unpleasent situations , and taking chance to take steps to change such situation.

The job lives of people can be exhausting and competative ,as its difficult to get a job within a person's educational -degree which usually happens among many . The challenges which people face would be much easier to deal with if its proclaimed in a motivational way. For example , doing internships without any wage can bring out opportunities to build connections within our carrer sectors. Even though this might not be a solution for financial problems , its crucial that proper management of money is not taken for granted . Our ability to face unfavoruable situations pushes for betterment in our lives.

There are times when we are required to be brave to face problems and make steps to overcome it . These could start with small steps such as learning a new skill within our career field. For example a fashion designer can strat with a small buiness on her own which would help in understanding business, dealing with clients and in general learn the whole process while being in desired field. It might be a succesful step or even be a failure hence with all the actions a person takes it brings a lesson.

To conclude, the choice to admit the situtations is part of life but to overcome such timesa person should attwmpt to being a change. In my opinion its always the best is what comes out of mistakes therefore small steps could lead us towards a long way.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the topic and gives a clear preference for taking action, especially in the conclusion: “small steps could lead us towards a long way.” It also includes relevant examples, such as unpaid internships and a fashion designer starting a small business. However, the two views are not discussed with equal clarity. The acceptance side is introduced, but the first body paragraph mainly recommends money management and reframing challenges rather than explaining why someone might reasonably accept a difficult situation. The writer’s position is also not stated clearly until the conclusion. Develop the reasons behind both perspectives—for example, why stability or limited opportunities may make acceptance sensible—and explain more fully how the examples support the preferred view. This would make the response more complete and its ideas less limited.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The examples generally follow the points they are intended to illustrate, and phrases such as “For example” help signal support. However, progression between the two views is not always clear: the first body paragraph moves from job difficulties to internships and then to financial management without a strong link to acceptance. Some references are also unclear, as in “living with it” and “overcome it,” where the reader must infer what “it” refers to. The conclusion repeats the general idea of taking action rather than drawing together the discussion. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to its main point, and make references more precise to strengthen the overall flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The response uses some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “financial problems,” “build connections,” “career field,” and “overcome.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “proper management of money” and “dealing with clients.” However, the range is limited and several spelling errors are noticeable, including “diffcult,” “unsatifactory,” “competative,” and “succesful.” Some word choices or combinations are awkward, such as “job lives,” “proclaimed in a motivational way,” and “take chance to take steps,” which can make meaning less immediate. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, “job prospects,” “approached positively,” and “take steps to improve the situation” would express the intended ideas more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The essay attempts a mixture of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “which,” and “even though.” This shows an effort to vary sentence structure, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some ideas difficult to follow. For example, “some believes” has incorrect subject–verb agreement, while “The challenges which people face would be much easier to deal with if its proclaimed” has problems with the pronoun and passive construction. The conclusion also contains a run-on sequence: “the choice to admit the situtations is part of life but to overcome such timesa person…” Use shorter, controlled sentences when needed, check agreement and pronoun references, and punctuate clauses clearly before attempting more complex structures.
