Student answer (Band 6.5)
As time-paced, life challenges are increasing day-by-day. The most devastating situation that has a profound impact in individual lives are financial burden, unemployment, poverty and etc. It is widely believed that we should accept these situations. While, others argue that we should optimize the current issues and find best approaches to mitigate its further impacts. In this essay, I will discuss both statements before giving my personal opinion.
Proponents of accepting serious issues can help people to become mature and confident in future lives. For instance, an international student go through from various troubles in another countries but time teaches them how to tackle these issues. Furthermore, it supports individuals not to believe in anyone. This strengthens their will power and allows them to take decision of their own choice. Various studies have shown that difficulties are crucial part of life. Every challenge teaches you a long-term lesson.
Moreover, people will think before doing anything. This enhances their productivity and assists them to improve their progress. For example, failure always teaches students to evaluate their mistakes and from where students learn to work out on their weak points. This ultimately allows them to work hard.
However, just accepting difficult conditions and not even finding any ways for improvements can affect individuals brain ability. In contemporary society, most people are facing from stress and anxiety issues. This can dramatically change their life. Stressed patient would not be able to return into a normal life again. This significantly has greater impact to their families.
From my own perspective, a balanced approach proves more practical. If you learn strategies to fight challenges. Then, serious conditions would gradually decrease. It just requires your patience and diligence to go through troubles.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The arguments for accepting a situation are a bit repetitive, focusing on 'lessons' and 'will power' without deep exploration. The counter-argument regarding the negative impact on mental health is relevant but could be more explicitly linked to the prompt's context of 'unsatisfactory jobs' or 'shortage of money'. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the 'international student' scenario, are slightly underdeveloped. To reach a higher band, ensure each paragraph provides a more detailed explanation of how the specific situation (e.g., poverty) is either accepted or improved.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'Furthermore', 'Moreover', and 'However', which help guide the reader through the argument. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and there are instances where the flow between sentences is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the second and third paragraphs. The use of referencing is generally clear, though some sentences could be better linked to improve the overall progression of ideas. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different viewpoints.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'profound impact', 'mitigate', and 'diligence'. However, there are also some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'time-paced' (which is not standard) and 'facing from stress' (the verb 'face' does not take 'from'). Additionally, 'individuals brain ability' lacks the possessive apostrophe. While the range is sufficient to convey meaning, more precise and varied vocabulary would be required for a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout the text, such as 'an international student go through from various troubles' (subject-verb agreement and preposition error) and 'This significantly has greater impact to their families' (awkward phrasing). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some issues with sentence fragments, such as 'If you learn strategies to fight challenges. Then, serious conditions would gradually decrease.' These errors do not impede communication, but they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Increasing the variety of error-free complex structures would improve this score.
