Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 6.0)
Believe is derived from the inner forces of people weather it's their values or urge to get more. People have different opinions based on their bias. Some people say accepting the unfavorable situations is a best choice while on the other hand some people argue that trying to improve such situations is a better option. Both views have their own pros and cons but I strongly support the middle ground; which is acceptance and efforts to improve due to its strong impacts on anyone's life.
Overall, both sides focus on the effects and efforts involved in such situations. First of all accepting these situations can result in patience in unlikeable situations. People who argue this side focus mostly on the idea of gratitude that no what in what situation we are, we should always be thankful for what we have. For instance, someone who just got C grade in exam could also get F in the worst scenario. So, showing gratitude and acceptance make them able stay calm in bad situations and perform better next time.
Second the people who support the idea of trying to improve your situations, mainly argue that human are born to try, fail and succeed. The ideology revolves around the idea that failure is the first step towards success. Afterwards, trying over and over can result in a positive way. For example, any individual who is being failed in job interviews gain experience along the failure. This experience teaches the man about his mistakes that helps him to overcome the difficulty more easily. And in the end due to the act perseverance and resilient they may get their dream job one day. Then the reason behind their success would be their determination.
My take on this is that, acceptance and urge to improve your situations is what matters most. These both strategies are important for anyone's success in life as long as they know when to adopt which one. Its really important to be patient and calm in difficult situations, so one can think clearly and gather their thoughts well. This is scientifically proven that having the sense of calm really helps in better thinking processes.
In the conclusion, supports of both sides state their own point of views with proper arguments weather its acceptance and giving up to avoid chaos or staying resilient towards to get what you want. I believe balance is the best way to have a successful, prosperous life along with tackling such unavoidable situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt by discussing both views and providing a clear personal opinion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the discussion on the benefits of perseverance. However, the explanation of the 'acceptance' side is slightly less nuanced, relying on a somewhat simplistic example of exam grades. While the position is consistent throughout, the development of the 'middle ground' argument could be more deeply explored to reach a higher band. Overall, the response effectively engages with the prompt and maintains a clear focus.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the two viewpoints and the author's own perspective. Cohesive devices such as 'First of all', 'Second', and 'In the conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, there are some minor issues with flow and referencing, such as the slightly awkward transition in the final paragraph. The use of cohesive devices is generally effective, though occasionally a bit mechanical. The progression of ideas is clear and easy to follow throughout the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient for the task and allows for the expression of ideas with some precision. There are attempts to use less common items, such as 'perseverance', 'resilient', and 'prosperous', which demonstrate a good range. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'the act perseverance' (should be 'the act of perseverance') and 'supports of both sides' (should be 'supporters'). These errors do not impede communication but prevent the vocabulary from being considered highly sophisticated or consistently natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While there is a good attempt at complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'human are born' (should be 'humans are born'), 'being failed in job interviews' (should be 'failing job interviews'), and 'weather' used instead of 'whether'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some minor slips. The errors are noticeable but do not significantly impede the reader's understanding of the main arguments. A greater focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and word forms would improve the score.
