Student answer (Band 6.5)
In this contemporary world, some people believe that it is best to accept a bad situation such as an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. However, others argue that it is better to try and improve such situations. Although accepting reality can reduce stress at some levels, but I believe that working hard to overcome such problems can be a better approach.
On the one hand, accepting a bad situation can be helpful sometimes because every problem do not have a immediate solution and it could also prevent individual from unnecessary stress and can help them in being calm. For example, if a person is unable to find a better job despite of several attempts, accepting the situation may temporarily provide financial stability. Constantly worrying about things that are beyond one's control can negatively affect mental well-being of a person. Therefore, acceptance can sometimes be practical short term solution.
On the other hand, I believe that people should make reasonable efforts to improve their circumstances. A person who us unhappy with their jobs can make additional efforts like developing new skills, gain additional qualifications, search for better employment opportunities. Similarly, someone facing financial difficulties can reduce unnecessary expenses or they can find some another source of income. For instance, many people take online courses while working and eventually move into higher paying professions.
In conclusion, accepting an unpleasant situation can sometimes be necessary, I believe that making practical efforts to improve it can be more beneficial in the long term.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion in the introduction and conclusion. The ideas are relevant and generally well-developed, particularly the examples provided for both accepting a situation and actively improving it. However, the development could be slightly more nuanced to reach a higher band; for instance, the discussion on 'accepting' could explore the psychological benefits in more depth, while the 'improving' section could touch upon the potential risks of over-ambition. Overall, the task is fully addressed with a consistent position throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with clear paragraphing. Each paragraph has a central theme, and the progression of ideas is easy to follow. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', 'For example', and 'Therefore' are used effectively to link ideas. However, the transition between the final two sentences of the conclusion is slightly abrupt, and the use of 'but' in the introduction after 'Although' is grammatically redundant. Despite these minor issues, the overall structure is coherent and professional.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is sufficient for the task and allows for clear communication. You use some good topic-specific collocations like 'financial stability', 'mental well-being', and 'employment opportunities'. There are some minor inaccuracies, such as 'every problem do not have a immediate solution' (should be 'does not have an immediate solution') and 'find some another source' (should be 'find another source'). To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms or idiomatic expressions to demonstrate a wider range of lexical control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is always clear, there are several grammatical slips. For example, 'every problem do not have' contains a subject-verb agreement error, and 'despite of' is an incorrect collocation (it should be 'despite' or 'in spite of'). Additionally, the sentence 'A person who us unhappy' contains a typo. While you show an ability to use complex structures, the frequency of these minor errors prevents a higher score. Focusing on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and preposition usage will help.
