Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion in the conclusion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding accepting a bad situation are supported by the practical reality of inflation and job scarcity, which is relevant. The counter-argument is less developed, relying on general statements about not limiting oneself. The essay would benefit from more specific examples or deeper analysis of the long-term consequences of either approach. While the position is clear, the supporting points are somewhat repetitive, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'Examining the former viewpoint' and 'the later opinion' are used, but the transition between sentences is sometimes abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the example and the main point is slightly disjointed. The logical progression is present, but the flow is hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of sophisticated linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices, such as 'shortage of finance' instead of 'financial hardship' and 'complete their all dreams' instead of 'achieve their goals'. The range of vocabulary is limited, and there is some repetition of basic terms like 'job' and 'situation'. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of more sophisticated or idiomatic language keeps the score in the mid-range. Spelling is mostly accurate, but the overall lexical control is basic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('individual should accept the what they get'), missing articles, and awkward sentence construction ('as each and every things nowadays are not cheap'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma placement and spacing. While the writer attempts complex sentences, they are often marred by errors, which limits the overall accuracy. A greater focus on proofreading for basic grammatical rules would significantly improve the clarity of the writing.
