Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses both views, but the development of ideas is inconsistent and often lacks clarity. While you mention the need to improve financial situations, the arguments are fragmented and rely on generalizations, such as the references to Africa and India, which are not effectively linked to the prompt's core theme of 'accepting vs. improving' a situation. The conclusion does not clearly state your own opinion, which is a requirement of the task. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence and that your personal stance is explicitly stated in the introduction and reinforced in the conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While some cohesive devices like 'On the one hand' and 'Consequently' are used, they are often applied mechanically or incorrectly. Referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult for the reader to follow the flow of your argument. To improve, focus on using transition words that accurately reflect the relationship between your ideas and ensure that each sentence builds logically upon the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, which restricts your ability to express complex ideas. There are several instances of incorrect word choice and spelling errors, such as 'currpat' (corrupt), 'facilites' (facilities), and 'telent' (talent). These errors occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To reach a higher band, you should work on expanding your range of vocabulary to include more precise terms related to socio-economic issues and ensure you are using words in their correct collocations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., 'Other argue', 'India individuals are have'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'people who working to low paid job'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and a correctly conjugated verb. Regular practice with proofreading for common errors will also be beneficial.
