Student answer (Band 5.0)

some people believe that if any thing bad happens we need to accept and move on but the other side people try to come out from that change their situations, the easy will focus on the both views with some suitable examples and in my opinion try to better your situation.

firstly there is many situations where people accept that if they can’t get a job at 1st interview then after they fail again and again and there for they never try one more time with better preparation and they accept the situation and some people have job but they not feel satisfied with it and accept the fact and they never try to full fill their shortage of money and leave thats situation as it is and uneducated people mostly believe to accept that situation.

alternatively, other people fight with their situations and try to come out for it and they also fail serval times in life but they improve their self and change the environmental around them. they work hard on their dreams and no matter what result they get they never stop working hard. there is so many physically disabled who never accept their situation and they also work hard on there dreams and support their family and some of them participated in physical activity such as like sports and many other faculties.

from my view never ever accept your situation and always try to come out from it with your hard work.

to conclude that some people dont want to change and they accept what they are and some work hard and change.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion, meeting the basic requirements of the prompt. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments are somewhat repetitive and lack depth; for instance, the discussion on 'uneducated people' is a generalization that is not well-supported. The essay would benefit from more specific, concrete examples rather than general statements about 'some people' or 'physically disabled' individuals. While the position is consistent, the lack of sophisticated analysis keeps this at a lower band level. To improve, ensure each paragraph explores the 'why' and 'how' of the arguments more thoroughly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. The use of cohesive devices is very basic and often mechanical (e.g., 'firstly', 'alternatively', 'from my view'). Some sentences are run-on, and the transition between ideas is often abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. For example, the jump from discussing job interviews to uneducated people in the second paragraph lacks a smooth connection. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of the writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. The student relies on basic phrasing such as 'bad situation', 'work hard', and 'change'. There are several instances of awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'full fill their shortage of money' and 'change the environmental around them'. The range is insufficient to express complex ideas with precision. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to career development, resilience, and personal growth, and practice using synonyms to avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there is many situations'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as the opening sentence which lacks proper punctuation. While there is an attempt at complex structures, they are often faulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing commas and periods. To improve, the student needs to focus on basic sentence construction, ensuring that every sentence has a clear subject and verb, and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and verb tense consistency.
