Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is argued that it is best to accept a bad situation, like an unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. In this essay I will argue that it is better to try and improve such situations.
There are several reasons why people accept bad situations of unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. Firstly, they are not able to communicate others properly and fear other society people, thinking that others may know about their job from their families. As a result, they accept the facilities what they get in their jobs. Secondly, some of them are too much honest and tell others the amount of money they get from their office. In some countries, Bangladesh for example, skilled garment workers may tell about their jobs and salary to the family members and those people talk bad with others.
Despite the above arguments, I believe that it is better to try for improving situations the of acceptance of unsatisfactory job or shortage of money. People can hide the information about their jobs by telling that they are happy in their jobs. Others, therefore, may hesitate to ask again about their job conditions, company name, location, and so on. To illustrate, people in Japan do not want to know about the amount of money they get from their offices. Therefore, these situation should be improved so that people can remain happy, and they may not have to hear meaningless talks from others.
In conclusion, while some argue that it is best to accept a bad situation, such as unsatisfactory job or shortage of money, I believe that it is better to improve the situation because people can become happier and they may not have to hear others unnecessary opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0
The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal position. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and occasionally confusing. For instance, the arguments regarding why people accept bad situations—such as 'fear other society people' or being 'too much honest'—are not clearly explained or logically linked to the prompt. Furthermore, the argument for improving situations is somewhat tangential, focusing on hiding information from others rather than actively changing the unsatisfactory job or financial circumstances. The essay would benefit from more relevant, well-supported examples that directly address the core of the prompt rather than focusing on social perception.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, and there is an attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'Despite the above arguments', and 'In conclusion'. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed. The transition between the reasons for accepting a situation and the proposed solutions is weak. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as the phrase 'these situation should be improved', where the antecedent is ambiguous. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the logical flow between sentences within paragraphs needs to be strengthened to ensure a more coherent argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for a higher band. There is frequent repetition of phrases like 'unsatisfactory job or shortage of money'. Some word choices are unnatural or inaccurate, such as 'fear other society people' and 'talk bad with others'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of variety and the presence of collocation errors limit the score. To improve, you should focus on using more precise academic vocabulary and avoiding repetitive phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'communicate others' (should be 'communicate with others'), 'facilities what they get' (should be 'facilities that they get'), and 'these situation should be improved' (should be 'this situation'). There are also issues with article usage and prepositional phrases. While the meaning is usually understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and correct preposition usage would be beneficial.
