Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people argued that in some cases like unsatisfactory job or less money, the best way is to accept the circumstances, while others believe that the better way is try and improvement. This essay will discuss both views and explain why i believe hardwork is most important.

On the one hand, many people prefer to accept their the situation, like this is not their concern, as a result their level never be increased. For example, in workplaces, if employees are given a small amount of money with workload environment, average employee may try to be flexible, as in the competitive world finding a job is in their preferences is more complicated. Furthermore, they just accept it because the high job market is not for everyone. In America, the highest development country, two million of peole are homeless, so in that situation if someone find a job no matter about the unsatisfaction and the less money, they just want to eat, help their family and alive, this is enough for them.

On the other hand, hardwork can beats the situation. Followed by workplaces, other employee who are detarminded to their goal and never give up, they will take the place of upper level, because if someone with consistency try to improve their situation, they can achive their goals. Success may come one day if you do something, but if theirs nothing on it's impossible to develop your situation.

To sum up, although worst situation make individuals to accept the situation when they found no way, consistency and hardwork hepled them for improvement.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The essay addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. The arguments regarding why people accept bad situations are a bit repetitive, and the explanation of how hard work leads to success is underdeveloped. The example regarding homelessness in America is slightly tangential and could be more effectively linked to the prompt's focus on job dissatisfaction. To improve, ensure that each body paragraph provides a more nuanced exploration of the 'why' and 'how' behind the arguments, rather than relying on general statements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'On the one hand', 'Furthermore', and 'To sum up', which help guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Followed by workplaces'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the second body paragraph where the connection between the ideas could be smoother. The overall structure is functional but lacks the sophisticated flow required for higher bands.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are several instances of awkward word choices or incorrect collocations, such as 'highest development country' instead of 'most developed country', and 'workload environment'. Some words are used incorrectly, such as 'alive' used as a verb. While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of flexibility and the presence of errors in word formation and collocation limit the score. Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('some people argued', 'worst situation make'), missing articles ('in competitive world'), and awkward phrasing ('if theirs nothing on it's impossible'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your accuracy.
