Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent times, it is increasingly argued that people should accept their fate in worst situations such as underpaid employment or lack of money while many other individuals argue that such problems should be fought for your character development and great future.

The main reason why most people agree to live with worst condition is that uncertainty of future employment and mental pressure of being short on money. This stems from the fact that in the modern world job market has been really competitive and currently being able to work is a blessing for them. Furthermore, being short on money significantly affect the mental well being of an individual and it could also impacts their routine and motivation towards their work. For example, many individuals have only single source of income which is there main job, individuals accept their fate rather than deciding to fight weather it is underpaid or unsatisfactory to avoid financial stress.Ultimately, people choose to stick to their current job because the consequences of standing against a situation is worse than their current problems.

On the other hand, I believe that it is a great opportunity for individuals for their character development and also for great future. On top of that it is a great way to display mental resilience, mental fortitude and toughness of individuals. Furthermore, it keeps people motivated to work and produce a little extra effort to escape the situations. For instance, many individuals who are unemployed or lacking money will dedicate their time towards building their portfolio and upgrading themselves. Ultimately, it significantly impacts individuals character and their future plans.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that accepting worst situations is insufficient and adds no value in people's life, whereas striving for active solution empowers character development and mental heath.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the 'uncertainty of future employment' as a reason for accepting bad situations, the explanation could be more detailed. Similarly, the argument for improving situations is a bit repetitive, focusing heavily on 'character development' without exploring other practical benefits like financial stability or long-term career growth. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more specific examples or logical consequences. Your position is consistent throughout, which is a strength.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use cohesive devices such as 'Furthermore', 'On the other hand', and 'Ultimately' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel a bit mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the connection between the 'mental pressure' mentioned in the second paragraph and the 'single source of income' example is slightly abrupt. Improving the variety of your linking words and ensuring that referencing (e.g., 'this', 'these') is precise would enhance the overall cohesion of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'mental fortitude', 'resilience', and 'underpaid employment'. However, there are some issues with word choice and collocation. For instance, you use 'worst situations' repeatedly, which is slightly unnatural; 'adverse circumstances' or 'challenging conditions' would be more precise. There are also minor errors, such as 'impacts their routine' (should be 'impact') and 'weather it is' (should be 'whether'). Expanding your vocabulary to include more academic collocations will help you achieve a higher score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'it could also impacts') and missing articles (e.g., 'in the modern world job market'). Additionally, there are punctuation errors, such as the extra spaces after commas and the misuse of 'there' instead of 'their'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a stronger grasp of basic grammatical rules to move into the higher bands.
