Student answer (Band 5.5)

Some people thinks that if they have unsatisfactory job or shortage of money it is a good thing to accept in the tough situation. While other believes that it is better to apply for more jobs and enhance such situations. I totally agree with both situations .

On the one hand, there is huge shortage of jobs in this modern era of technology, Ai has taken the countless jobs . People are out of jobs now and are trying hard to find the good ones . But they are failing to find the good ones. So. If they get the chance to get any type of job to earn their bread they have to do so. Whether it’s a big job or ordinary they have to do so. They need to perform such jobs because they can not get short of money and fulfills their basic needs. If they quit their jobs then they should have dire consequences of money. So, it is better to apply for such jobs.

On the other hand, it is better to apply for the dream jobs and to try to improve the situation, a person trying for new jobs without quitting the present job shows that he has high morale. And it is a smart way of searching for more jobs that meet your financial freedom and gives you a life you want to chose to live happily.

So, in my opinion, I believe that without quitting the old job one must be apply for better jobs. Because it is human’s fundamental right to live freely and according to what they want . So it is highly recommended to continue their present job where it’s small but it also gives them a type of freedom to meet their bills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses both views and provides a clear opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the impact of AI and the need for financial stability, the arguments remain quite general. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of why one approach might be superior to the other. The conclusion is consistent with your position, but the overall development lacks the depth required for a higher score. You have addressed all parts of the prompt, but the discussion could be more nuanced.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' to signal shifts in perspective. However, the transitions between sentences are sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'such situations' is used repeatedly). The logical progression is present, but the flow between ideas could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph focuses on a single, well-developed idea.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You rely on simple phrases like 'good ones' and 'big job', which limits the sophistication of your writing. There are some instances of awkward phrasing, such as 'get short of money' and 'meets your financial freedom'. To improve, you should focus on using more precise collocations and academic vocabulary. While your meaning is clear throughout, the range of vocabulary is not yet sufficient to demonstrate the flexibility required for a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the essay, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Some people thinks', 'other believes') and incorrect verb forms ('must be apply'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with unnecessary spaces before periods. While you attempt some complex sentence structures, they are often marred by these errors. The range of structures is limited, and the frequency of mistakes occasionally distracts the reader. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly subject-verb agreement and proper sentence construction, will significantly improve your score.
