Student answer (Band 5.5)
Every person faces different challenges in their life such as family dispute, money shortage, job uncertainty. Many people convinced that such situation should be accepted and don't try to improve it. While some of people argue as person should not lose hope and should try to improve such situation or a problem.
If any difficult situation was arises in people life instead of trying to solve such problems people believed that it is good to just accept such situation. For example, If a person lost his job and become an unemployed although having good skill and doing hard work in his job. Then such person decided to just accept and never try to find another job. By not trying to solve such situation it remain same and can't able to improve their life if person lose all faith in himself.
Some of the people believed that instead of losing faith and ignoring such situation person should try their best to improve their life. For example, if person don't have a job then that person should try to find another job as his ability and skills can never be lost. His knowledge will always remain to himself nobody can take it away from it. Eventually, he can find a job as per his need and can able to improve their and his family life.
In my opinion, every person should try their best in their life in their is difficult phase or time arises. It make person strong.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The essay addresses both sides of the argument and provides a clear personal opinion. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. The response is also slightly under the 250-word minimum, which impacts the overall task completion. The examples provided, such as the scenario of losing a job, are relevant but could be expanded with more depth to fully explore the implications of each perspective. To improve, ensure that each paragraph provides a more thorough analysis of the 'why' behind the arguments rather than just stating the situation.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and repetitive (e.g., 'For example', 'In my opinion'). There are instances where the logical flow between sentences is disjointed, such as the transition between the introduction and the first body paragraph. The referencing is occasionally unclear, making some sentences difficult to parse. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is a reliance on basic terms like 'good', 'bad', and 'difficult'. Some word choices are inaccurate, such as 'If any difficult situation was arises' (should be 'arises') and 'can't able to' (a grammatical error that also affects lexical precision). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to professional development, resilience, and problem-solving, and focus on using collocations more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include 'Many people convinced that' (missing 'are'), 'If any difficult situation was arises' (incorrect verb tense/passive voice), and 'can't able to' (redundant modal/verb construction). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of errors in basic sentence construction prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of modal verbs.
